“Servants of the Mountain” from Final Fantasy X: A Review
Final FantasyX (PlayStation 2, 2001)
A haunting, gorgeous song
A genuine masterpiece from one of Final Fantasy X‘s composers, Masashi Hamauzu, “Servant of the Mountain” is the perfect accompaniment to the feeling of reaching the summit of an epic story. Loose ends begin to tie, the solemn light at the end of the tunnel begins to shine, the mournful anticipation of a journey’s completion begins to wash over you. Let it. You’ve earned this bittersweet reward.
Seymour Flux
Absolutely fuck off lmao
9.7 / 10
Truly one of the finest songs in the entire Final Fantasy catalog is nearly undone by the angriest I’ve ever been at a Final Fantasy boss fight
I not infrequently find myself hiking with my dog uphill through snowy fields in the winter, and this song is always in my head. And bonus, no Seymour at the top!

It’s a such a beautiful song for that!
